Birds & Light Boxes & Bird Light Boxes

Great news! Makeout Creek's Joshua Poteat has contributed work to the upcoming Anhinga Press collection The Poets Guide to Birds. The book will be released in January 2009, but Anhinga is currently taking pre-orders through its website.

Josh had this to say about the book:

If you didn't already have a bunch of poems about birds, this will be sure to take you above your quota. It's the perfect gift for those of us who hate birds... like a cat, for example. And also for those of us who kinda like them.

The man's first collection was entitled Ornithologies, so he'd rank among the latter.

Also! If you happen to be in the area of Richmond, VA this Friday, November 7, Josh will be selling his light boxes at Metro Space Gallery during the First Friday art walk thingamajig. The gallery is located at 119 W Broad St, across from Comfort. Josh will be there from 6-10 pm.

The light boxes are pretty amazing. How he fits the light in those little boxes, I'll never know.

Visit his website for further examples.
